Female Self-Defence
Female self -defence is becoming an increasingly important part of my teaching. It is important that the techniques work against bigger and stronger opponents - this applies for men as well - which is unfortunately often the case when women have to defend themselves.
When teaching I will often make references to female self-defence implications of various techniques and, if necessary, will show explicitly how they can be applied when facing somebody much bigger than yourself.
I also encourage men in the class who are working with women to apply techniques with sufficient strength so that the lady has to work a little to break them and get safe. Safety in training is paramount and I ensure that people don't get hurt; however, there
is a tendency sometimes amongst men to go a bit easy when training with women that limits the self-defence benefits for the latter.
As well as defensive techniques in a conflict, I have begun to focus on wider safety issues and am currently writing a book on the subject, see the Self Defence Handbook page on this website which will form part of this wider document but stands alone to give some useful guidance with regard to personal safety.

Excellent self-defence training for women

The simplicity of Krav Maga and its absolute effectiveness were startling. Perhaps most impressive was its ability to be equally effective for both males and females.
